This years South Asian Heritage Month was hosted on the 25th of July at the Leeds Civic Hall. The afternoon was filled with vibrant culture, inspirational speeches and delicious South Asian cuisine.
We had many prominent figures in attendance. Most notably the Lord Mayor of Leeds Abigail Marshal Katung, who gave a wonderful speech on Diversity and Inclusivity in our community. We were also graced with the presence of the West Yorkshire Police Chief Constable John Robins QPM who shared the importance of the South Asian presence in our Police System. Alongside many other successful/important individuals of South Asian heritage who shared their very inspirational stories with our guests.
But we cant forget to mention our amazing staff team for making sure the event went ahead smoothly with no hiccups. Last but not least, thanks too our brave service users and staff who conjured the South Asian spirit into this western hall, and showcased the cultural elements we all were in attendance for.
